Cycle Schenectady periodically hosts bike rodeos to teach kids bike safety and bike handling skills. See what’s coming up or recent events below.
Bring your kids and their bikes to practice and develop skills to become better cyclists. These
rodeos will have helmet fitting and bike tune up stations covering bike and road safety, skills
activities including: slow racing in side-by-side lanes, dodging objects, sudden stops and
practicing rules of the road like signaling; games, bike accessory giveaways, and refreshments.

Cycle Schenectady and the Schenectady County Public Library are hosting a bike rodeo on Saturday, September 15th, 2023. This will be held at Hamilton Elementary School Parking Lot, From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Kids ages 5-13 will learn bike safety and bike handling skills from an instructor certified by the League of American Bicyclists. There will also be bike-related games and bike accessory giveaways, as well as ice cream and refreshments.
All children in this age group accompanied by an adult are welcome. Registration is recommended, but walk-ups will be accepted. Participants should bring their own bikes and helmets if they have them, but some will be available for those who do not.
