President – Art Clayman

Art Clayman is an avid cyclist who has been riding for more than 50 years, as a bike commuter, recreational rider and indoor cycling instructor.
Before retiring in 2014, he was opinion editor at The Daily Gazette, where he wrote often about transportation and land-use issues — in favor of transportation alternatives including the bicycle, and against car-centric development and suburban sprawl. Since retiring, he has served as vice president of the Electric City Bike Rescue and as president of the bicycle advocacy group Cycle Schenectady, which he founded in 2019.
