Cycle Schenectady will be hosting a series of casual, family-friendly rides this summer in various neighborhoods. The aim is to give residents of each neighborhood a chance to ride with their immediate neighbors and see things from a different perspective — i.e., the seat of a bike on low-stress streets. Additionally, we want people from other neighborhoods to join the ride, touring and learning about neighborhoods different from their own. To facilitate that learning, the group will stop for 15 minutes or so and hear a talk about the neighborhood they’re riding through from someone knowledgeable about it.
